Who we are
We Rove (“we”) plans safari and birding trips in India. Contact for anything about your data: info@werove.in.
What we collect
- What you tell us: when you call, WhatsApp, email or use the form on our site, we receive what you share, such as your name, phone number, email, travel dates, group details and preferences.
- For permits and bookings: names and ID details of travellers (for example Aadhaar, passport or driving licence details), because forest departments and lodges require them.
- Photos, interviews and feedback (optional): during a trip we may take photographs, and we may sometimes ask for an interview, a testimonial, a Google Form response or a Google review. This is always your choice. We never force it, and you can say no at any time.
- Website usage (only if you allow it): if you accept analytics cookies, we collect information such as pages visited and the device and browser used, through Google Analytics. We do not collect it if you choose “essential only”.
What the website form does
The enquiry forms on this site do not send your details to us through our website. They open WhatsApp with your message already typed, and you decide whether to send it.
Why we use your information
To reply to you, plan and run your trip, make bookings, take payments, keep records, and improve our website. We use it on the basis of your consent or because it is needed to provide the trip you asked for.
Who we share it with
Only as far as needed: forest departments (permits), lodges, drivers and guides, and payment providers. If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes analytics data. We don’t sell your data.
How long we keep it
Booking records for as long as the law and our accounts require. Enquiries that don’t become bookings, up to 12 months. We don’t want to hold personal data longer than we need to. ID copies are deleted once your permits are done and all dues for the trip are settled, unless the law requires us to keep them. Photos, testimonials and similar material are kept only while we use them, and we’ll remove them if you ask.
Cookies
- Essential: make the site work (for example remembering day or night theme and your cookie choice).
- Analytics (optional): only if you accept. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer.
Photos and testimonials
We only publish a photo in which you can be recognised, or use your words or name in a testimonial, with your permission. You can withdraw that permission and ask us to take it down by writing to info@werove.in.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent, by writing to info@werove.in. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy, you can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operating.
Security
We keep data in password-protected accounts and share ID details only with the people who need them. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send us card or banking passwords.
Children
We deal with children’s information only through their parents or guardians, as part of a booking.
Changes
We may update this policy. The latest version is always on our website.
